The Playground Map Project

The Playground Map Project aims to paint accurate maps on the playgrounds of primary and secondary schools across Scotland. The project started in 2011 with a map of the world (template measures 8m x 6m), and we now also have a map of Scotland (template measures 5m x 4m). Our painter has installed dozens of maps, and every time she visits a school, pupils and staff are enthusiastic about the maps and are fascinated with the installation process.

Costs

RSGS is now able to subsidise some of the costs of installing the maps, but schools are asked to contribute £150-£250 each for their maps from their own fundraising efforts.  The map of Scotland costs £150 for RSGS School Members, and £200 for non-Members.  The map of the world costs £200 for RSGS School Members, and £250 for non-Members.  Prices quoted are exclusive of VAT.
