RSGS will be hosting three special one-off events at AK Bell Library in Perth over the coming months! Join us for an evening celebrating different experts including adventurer Aldo Kane, cameraman Darren Conway, and news presenter Ros Atkins.

Aldo Kane

Aldo Kane is an adventurer, former Royal Marines Commando sniper, and one of the most sought-after technical safety consultants in the global film and television industry. Born and raised in Kilwinning, Scotland, Aldo developed a deep love for the outdoors and adventure from a young age. This passion for pushing boundaries and testing limits has defined his life and career.

Darren Conway

Acclaimed BBC cameraman Darren Conway is a six-time winner of the RTS Award for Best News Cameraman and recipient of an OBE for his outstanding contribution to British broadcast journalism.

He will share powerful stories from a career spent filming on the frontlines. With decades of experience capturing some of the most poignant images of conflict in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria, Darren offers a rare behind-the-scenes look at the realities of international news reporting, as well as the many inspiring people he's met along the way. Ros Atkins

BBC journalist Ros Atkins is best known for his clear, fact-based video explainers that have engaged millions worldwide. He has covered major global events for the BBC, including elections, climate summits, and breaking news stories, and is currently the BBC’s Analysis Editor. Join him as he shares insights from a distinguished career in broadcasting.
